Fresh Veggies Day 2024

Fresh Veggies Day is celebrated on June 16 every year.
It’s a day dedicated to commemorating the nutritional value of fresh vegetables and their importance to human health.
This year, it falls on Sunday, so why not celebrate Fresh Veggies Day with a day out to buy your vegetables and other food requirements fresh from a VFMA-accredited market?
Go ahead and buy your vegetables, fruit, and meat straight from the farmers! They're never fresher!
Fresh veggies are rich in micronutrients for metabolism, growth, development, and disease prevention.
When you buy your produce from a VFMA-accredited market, you know you are buying directly from the Farmer. Your money goes directly to the farmers who have grown and produced your produce.
Our farmers are the backbone of rural communities, and the money they spend supports many businesses and families in their local town.
Enjoy your soup, roast with veggies, fresh fruit, and other produce, knowing you are helping keep farmers farming and rural towns thriving!

Find out which vegetables are in season and support your local farmers by buying from them.
If you shop seasonally, you will always eat the tastiest vegetables, which are at their ripest when cooked.
Buying local produce can also help lower the carbon footprint of your food, making it better for the environment.
